The legend tells that...
Vidar is an Ase god, son of Odin, who is one of the strongest of the gods. During Ragnarök, Vidar pierced the heart of the wolf Fenrir and tore off its jaw, thus avenging his father's death.
His name probably comes from the word"viðr" which means "wood" or "tree"in Old Norse, making him the Lord of the forest. In the Poetic Edda, one of the references of Norse mythology, he is referred to as "he who lies in the woods".
