Description : Szechuan berries, renowned since ancient Chinese times, come from shrubs in the citrus family. They are often associated with lemony flavors, reminiscent of lemon, orange or grapefruit. What makes Szechuan berries so special is their ability to deliver a light, numbing sensation on the tongue, preceded by a pungent aromatic profile. The berry shell is the only edible part, the black seeds being hard and bitter.
Goes wonderfully with : Chinese cuisine, especially duck, pork or chicken. Try also in chocolate desserts and fruit salad.

The legend tells that ...
... In the tumultuous waters of the China Sea sailed the fearsome pirate Ching Shih, the Lady of the Sea. At the head of a fleet of over a thousand ships, she was a mystery and a terror to those who dared cross her domain. But her bay, a place shrouded in legend, was her most precious treasure. It is said that in the heart of the bay, the calm waters concealed deep abysses where the souls of defeated sailors rested. Even today, sailors still speak of Ching Shih Bay, where the calm waters can swallow up the unfortunate at any moment. Some claim that on stormy nights, the cry of the Lady of the Sea can still be heard, a distant echo of the power and passion that once ruled these mysterious waters.
This is just a story, a legend... But in every legend lies a piece of truth
